BIO UPDATE (10/29/2018): We are still working on potty training, and he's doing well. He is very playful and must have a playmate.  He is very affectionate!  He hasn't gotten much bigger weighing in at 11 lbs now.

BIO (9/25/2018):
Hi, my name is Bentley!  My foster mom calls me Tinker.  I don't really remember, but someone dropped me off in the country in Kentucky.  Luckily, a Good Samaritan picked me up and brought me to a rescue group.

I'm not sure what kind of dog I am, but I am told I look part dachshund, part terrier.  I have beautiful brown wire fur with wisps of black.  And I have a really cute black beard!

I have a lot of energy!  I love to explore and I love to play.  I must have a playmate to keep me occupied.  I have to have a fenced yard to run off my energy.  I am told I am very smart and am working really hard on potty training.  Did I tell you I love to snuggle?  Once I wind down, I love to snuggle and get belly rubs.

My foster parents say I am adorable!

I am really looking forward to a family of my own...could it be you?

More about Bentley #3 in WI

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Playful, Affectionate

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
