BIO:

Holly is a sweet, shy dachshund who absolutely loves cuddling! Her coloring is beautiful, and her fur is so soft. She gets along with our other dachshunds, and they play together well. Holly is very submissive and timid, but warmed up quickly and has made herself at home. She follows her foster dad around everywhere, and cuddles up on the couch with him whenever she can. Her manners are wonderful - she has no food aggression and asks to go outside when she needs to. She would do best in a low-key household, with or without dogs. She is healthy and is at a good weight. Holly is an absolutely wonderful dog and is looking forward to meeting her forever family!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
