BIO (7/24/2018):  CRAZY ABOUT CASH!!!

Cash will make the perfect little addition to your family! Some of his favorite things are cuddles and walks. He gets very excited and starts shuffling around with anticipation when it’s time for a stroll.

He might be a teeny weeny but his personality and heart are larger than life. Cash loves to be with you! Whether you’re in the kitchen cooking, watching television or enjoying some warm weather on the porch, he's there. He isn’t one for jumping all over you, he just wants to sit with you, maybe have a little nap, maybe chew on a toy for a while.

Cash gets along great with other dogs. Despite being smaller than his foster brother Charlie (also a dachshund), he can give back just as well as he gets. They have so much fun chasing each other around and wrestling over toys.

Cash is crate trained but the more attached he gets, the more he insists on sleeping with you. He seems like the silent type during the day and will only usually bark when he is copying his foster brother. At night, he will just fall asleep on the couch while you watch tv but as soon as you go to bed, that’s where he would prefer to be.

Cash has the most adorable little puppy dog guilt face that, if you didn’t know him, would make you think he has done something wrong. We quickly came to learn that this is just his beautiful trademark stare and it never ceases to make us laugh.

When Cash came to us, he had some flaky skin around his back and back legs, so we are using a special dog food called ‘Derm Defense’ designed for dogs with environmental sensitivities. It seems to be clearing it up quite well.

If you’re looking for a happy but relaxed older dachshund that will give you nothing but love and attention – Cash is THE one for you.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
