BIO:
Hello! I'm Chubs. I am an adorable red boy who just loves to be loved. I don't bark, I love to watch T.V. on the lap of anyone who will love me. I am potty trained and my energy level is mellow. Some of my favorite things to do are play fetch, go for walks, have some sleepy time in my own little bed (not all the time though) and play with other dogs. I also love to cuddle, I will put my nose right by your neck and just fall asleep. I am a curious dog, who will get scared of little things like the water jug refilling after I drink from it, or the surround sound at my foster parents house. I usually just run to someone and put my nose in the oh so comfortable neck spot.
Chubs was found as stray and no one claimed him. I can't believe anyone who owned this dog would not claim him. He is so sweet, lovey dovey and such a cuddle love boy. He gets along with everyone, and every dog. On one occasion he got out the front door, I of course was panicking, I went after him to find him waiting at the drive way with his ears perked with what looked like a smile. He saw me and instantly ran to my arms. He is one of the most sweetest dogs I have ever met and when he does find his forever home, I will be so sad to see him go. He doesn't bark at the door, he loves to go bye bye and will patiently wait by the door if he is home alone. He loves his treats, and eats them in record time. He doesn't like perfume, and shows you by sneezing about a hundred times after one little spritz. He has so much personality and love to give. He would do best with someone who has a lot of time, isn't gone a whole lot, and loves to have there lap kept warm. He does fine with kids and all other dogs.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Chubs..CA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
