I was rescued from real bad conditions when I was younger by a very nice couple, But I knew I was missing something in life but I had no idea till now. I think you call it love. That nice couple I guessed decided that they had done their part and gave me up to AADR, where I am now at a loving home with some other girls and boys. I do have to tell you I am not looking my best right now because I did have an accident when I got here. I thought that I wanted to go home, so when I found the gate open I slipped out late at night and was heading to the home that I thought was great but didn’t make it too far when I was hit by a car. I only got some cuts out of it and the Doc had to shave my back a bit but the hair is growing back now. Well I have to go and play some more so I will hand you over to the one who has shown me what love is really all about.” Rachel Says: Pickle did have a little shaky start here but she is such a good girl, the day I was able to bring her back home she was showering me with kisses. This Girl is very sweet and loves kids, she sounds like she is going to take an Adults leg right of but let a little kid come in and lay on the ground and they better watch out because they are going to get kisses and kisses. I think Pickle would do much better in a home that she is the only dog or at least not the largest dog. She does tend to pick on her Foster sister who is smaller then she is. Pickle feels that she should be the only one that gets the loving so when you are petting a smaller dog she will pick on them, the ones that are the same size or larger she will do nothing to them it is just the smaller ones that she will pick on. For a 6yr old she does act like a little kid when I come home from work she makes me laugh because all I can think of when I see her is a little kid running through a field of flowers, she is so Comical. Pickle does love the big bed sleeping under the covers is her favorite spot and I always have to get her out of the bed.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Pickle...PA
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
