Everyone loves Bingo and you will too!  I am a very sweet, loveable and handsome boy.  I love to snuggle and have my belly rubbed and give lots of kisses. 

I was dropped off at a shelter in KY (not sure why) and I am now looking for a place to call home.  So, if you want a very well-mannered dog who just wants to be loved, I am your guy!  

I am currently staying in a foster home in Benson, NC.  I have 2 Foster Brothers and 1 Foster Sister.  I like playing with them so having a Brother or Sister would be great.  But I would also be ok with being an only child. 

They have a doggie door and they did not have to teach me how to use it.  Did I mention that I am smart?  I enjoy laying on their porch in the sun even if it is 96 degrees.  I go in and out by myself so I have been good with doing my business outside.  But don’t shut the door as I have not totally learned to control myself.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
