BIO Update (9/2/2018):  Hi!  Here I am asking you why you are not picking me for your next best friend?  I love car rides, going for walks on a leash, and snuggle time.  I just want to share all the adventures and good times with my person.  I love to get dressed up as you can see in my pictures that are posted of me.  My foster mom says I am a great little pup and anyone would be very lucky to have me.  Please, if you are looking for a sweet little lady to call your own, I’m your girl!!

BIO:  Hi, my name is Lily!  I’m looking for someone to love me as much as I love back.  I’m very affectionate and quite the little snuggler!  You would think with all I’ve been through that I wouldn’t trust anymore, but I do.

I was attacked by a big dog and the owners did not provide medical care for a whole week then finally turned me in to the NC shelter in their area.  I have not let this tragic accident scar me on the inside but I do have a permanent scar on the outside.

Life is so good!  I have a nice bed, toys, and yummy food.  But, I need my own people to love me forever.

I’m an alpha pup... so, I’m not good with other little girls, but I love the boys. 

I love food, toys, long walks (did I tell you I walk great on a leash?), and a nice fenced yard to play in (but this is not necessary as long as you always keep me on a leash).  Please, if you are looking for that special little girl then I’m waiting here in Tennessee for you and these nice people will help me get to you.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
