BIO:  These two beauties came from Pennsylvania where they were surrendered to the Humane Society because their owners were moving and couldn’t take them.  Zoie and Betsy are sisters and have been together their entire lives and it shows in how they treat each other.  They love each other very much and for that reason we can’t separate them.  So, please, do not ask.

Betsy is on two medications a day for a 5-6 grade heart murmur.  Zoie had a large fatty growth removed that was near her front leg.  They both had dentals and did, of course, lose some teeth due to poor dental care by the previous owners.  Now going forward, if they have yearly dental, they should be able to keep the teeth they have.

These two girls are happy, friendly, and enjoy being with humans and each other!  Our desire is to see them go to a home that has a fenced yard and, most importantly, someone to love them for the rest of their lives.

They will be perfectly fine while you work as they’ll just lie together in a doggie bed until you come home… then they want lap time.

They both were over fed but we are working to take that weight off them and then they will be RED CARPET beauties!

Don’t wait to apply because they won’t be available long... they’ll be adopted before you know it!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
