Hi, I’m Braunee. I’m a little big guy. I love my ears rubbed and will just melt in your lap when you rub them for me. I got lost and had to go to a place with lots of other dogs. I was scared and lonely. They say I got “rescued” just in time. I don’t know what that means but now I am in a place that smells so much nicer and I get to sleep in a big bed with lots of blankets to burrow under and keep warm. Can I go home forever with you please?
Braunee was found as stray and no one claimed him. At just 11 pounds he was way too small to be out running around by himself. He is just about the best dog in the whole world. He has no issues (doesn’t bark much, doesn’t dig or chew, never snaps or shows aggression). He loves to be loved and will sit in you lap and cuddle with you all day. He gets along great with all other dogs, male or female. He gets along great with kids of all ages. There is nothing bad to say about this little guy. He will melt your heart. If your looking for the best dog in the world, look no further!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
