Bella was rescued after being removed from a hording situation. She is sweet and even tempered, loves everyone, great with kids, cats and other dogs. She does have that doxie stubbornness so she will need structure, boundries and a kind but firm even tempered owner. She is smart and learns very quickly with a positive motivation approach. Potty training needed to be started from scratch as she was not trained at all, she is doing well but needs to be on a good schedule to help her be successful in this area. When she came to AADR she did have mange and is being treated for that. She still has hair loss from this so I will be updating pictures as her hair grows in. She is a wonderful dog who is just going to thrive now that she can have a normal dogs life in a loving home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about BELLA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
