BIO: Becca came from a puppy mill in North Carolina and MUST have another young dog for her to play with. She is extremely sweet but shy at first. She is a high energy puppy and she loves to play, play, play. Becca gets along great with other dogs. She has only been with us a couple of days, but she is already getting used to going outside to potty, so she will need understanding and continued reinforcement as she works on her housetraining. Becca is quick to learn and she is such a joy! She is happy to settle in her doggie bed to sleep and, while she is crate trained, she prefers not to be crated. Could Becca’s loving, forever home be yours?

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
