BIO:    Don’t be fooled by her soft brown eyes... inside this little female lives a Queen Bee who wants to rule your world and all its inhabitants!  Lillie needs to live with experienced dachshund owners who can assert their leadership over the pack.  She is sweet, cuddly, playful and very smart.  She would be a great addition to a family with another young dog.  Right now, she is living in a home with two male and one female dachshund along with Elvis, a mixed breed saved by AADR.  She spends her days either lumped together in a pile with the dog pack, or following her foster parents around to see what they are doing, or she is playing with Riley and Elvis.  She loves to run around in the fenced yard with the other dogs if it isn’t too cold.  She is also figuring out how to use the dog door.

This little sweetheart was one of eight dogs dropped off in a box at the Orange County Animal Control in North Carolina.  Luckily AADR came to their rescue so that they will have the chance to find a loving home.

If you think that you are the one to provide the right home for this to this little lady, please complete an application.  You won’t be sorry!

More about Lillie in Canada

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
