UPDATE FROM SASSY:   Hey guys!   Sassy here just checkin’ in.   That’s right, Sassy is my name and sassy is my game.   Just wanted to let you know things are going really well.   I have been working really hard on my diet.   I’ve lost a couple of pounds, regaining my girlish figure, and lookin’ hot!   Calisthenics are so yesterday; my favorite exercise is chasing rabbits.  I hate those pesky wabbits but I looooove to chase them.  My foster mom says I’m a big girl, more “tweenie” than “mini” but hey, just more of this pup to love!

Foster mom tells me I am a great pup and I know she loves me and I love her too but I really would love to have a forever home.   I’ll be waiting to hear from you.   Please apply soon.

If you want more info, please contact foster mom.  She will be happy to tell you more about me.

BIO:  Hi, I’m Sassy and I’m from AL.  My owners had to give me up because they could no longer properly care for me.  But that’s ok, I’m having a great adventure and love all the new people.  I’m not shy and am willing to step out and meet the world.  I love belly rubs, but I’m also independent and can go off and entertain myself if you are busy.

I would really appreciate another dog to keep me company if you can’t be home, and please a fenced in yard so I can run and play.  I’m a big girl and they say I have to lose more weight to get back to my “ideal” weight.  That’s why I really need that fenced in yard or if you are a walker or jogger I could go with you.  Well bye for now, but keep me in mind if you want a new best friend, I promise to be very loyal!

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
