BIO:  Have you heard of a boy named Sue?  Well, this is a girl named BOB!  Bob is a sweet girl and loves lap time after she gets used to her surroundings so you have to be patient when you adopt her.  She was given up by her owner when there were health problems in the family and they were having to move. This was the only family Bob and several other pups had ever known.  So please understand she just needs time to get her bearings.  Once she’s used to your home and you, she’ll be just fine, but don’t rush.

She is house-trained but could have some accidents until she’s completely comfortable in your home.  No kids; she’s never been around them.  A fenced yard is a must because this little one likes being outside in a fenced-in area.

She really needs another dog to keep her company, either male or female - she’s not fussy.  If you are a stay at home dog mom/dad... that’s even better yet!

Please consider adopting Bob to be your little buddy.  She really needs a last forever home with someone that will enjoy her sweetness!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
