Sheeba is a rescue from a breeder. She was underweight and had a cold when she came to her foster home but she is now in picture perfect health. She is the sweetest, most loving Dachshund you will ever meet. She gets along great with other small dogs, not sure about big dogs or cats but I’m sure she would do just fine as there is not an aggressive bone in her body. She gets along wonderfully with her 7 year old human foster sister and has fun rolling around on the couch with her, as well as cuddling up next to her at night. I’m sure she would get along with a child of any age. Although she was not house trained when she was taken in, she now uses the doggie door all the time. She is a very smart and learned the rules of the house in just a couple days with almost no correcting. She honestly has no behavior issues at all. Thank you for considering adopting Sheeba. She will make anyone who loves dogs the happiest owner ever!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about SHEBA..AZ

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
