BIO:  Every day Diva wonders why she has not found her forever home yet. WHY??  She's people friendly, loves older kids and male dogs.  We have to say “no” to female dogs and cats.  She is also housetrained.  Diva loves to cuddle and be held and told how very pretty she is.

Diva was dumped at a shelter in IL.  They reached out to us to take her.  Not one day have we been sorry we did!  We are just sorry she's still looking for that perfect forever family.  She would do best with a fenced yard so she can check it out every morning after rising and last thing before bed at night.  And OH, would you let her sleep with you?  That would be her dream to have a forever family that lets her sleep with them every night.

Diva also walks well on a leash.  You can walk with her, but what she really wants is that fenced yard.  OH, and she'll play with a toy all by herself too if you give her lots of toys to choose from.

So, what do you think?  Wanna give this beautiful little girl a try?  You won't be sorry.

Good with Some Dogs (No female dogs), Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
