BIO:  Hello everyone... I AM BATMAN!  Yup, that's right, Batman, and boy do I know it.  Hum the show theme and say my name and I come running.  That's not the only trick I know though.  Point your finger at me and say BANG! and I'll fall over with my belly up.  I do appreciate a treat when I do this so it should be saved for special occasions so that I don't get overweight and wear out the cuteness of the trick.

If you have any other specific questions about me, please contact my foster parents and they will be happy to talk to you about me.  If you’re looking for a great addition to your family, please consider ME.  I promise to put a smile on your face every day.

From foster dad:  Batman is AWESOME!!!!  He is so happy and WOW smart.  With some work and time, Batman could become the next wonder dog.  He sleeps well in his crate, but he will whine for a little while.  He settles down after a firm voiced BATMAN...NIGHT NIGHT TIME!  He is a huge snuggle bug and burrows under the blankets.  I'm sure he would love to sleep in the big bed if you wanted him to.  I would love to see him go to a home that had another pup for him to play with and a fully fenced in yard.  He is still very young and loves to run like the wind.  He is doggie door trained, and we have not had any accidents inside.  He does bark at any noises that he hears, so he probably would not make a good apartment dog.  He does listen very well when told to stop barking.  Batman is a GREAT dog.  Submit your application quickly, because he won't be available for long.  If you have any questions about him, please drop us an email and we will contact you as soon as we can.

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
