BIO:

Hi!  My name is Reese and I am as sweet as the candy!  I love to give nose and mouth kisses and I get very excited when my people come home.  I am kennel trained, but I must admit, I do not like it much however, if I have a li’l roomie in there with me, I do great.  I like to talk…A LOT.   I notify my people when I hear things, yea, so it might be a gnat in the kitchen.  I am a follower, I love having hairy brothers and sisters, the bark and meow kind.  I especially love having non-hairy brothers and sisters, they make me sooo excited and happy.  I still have accidents in the house but I promise that I am working hard on that.  I love my foster mommy, who spoils me, and she lets me sleep with her under the covers.  I am very laid back and easy going.  I will bark and growl at new people, but just need a little time to get to know them, because I think I am a HUGE dog. :)

I must admit that I have a beautiful coat that is sooo shiny.  I do very well with small sets of stairs; I have never tried big ones though.  I can even do stairs up to the bed.  I love to play in the fenced-in backyard and sniff and prance through the backyard smelling flowers and being nosy.  I have a tendency to want to check out the kitchen trashcan, but have not tipped it over and made a mess.  I am 2 years old and a playful snuggler with some mischief mixed in.  If you have any questions, please contact my foster mom through her listed email.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
