BIO:

Teddy is a 2-year-old black and tan dachshund with an amazing personality! He has lots of energy and loves to run and play. While not much is known about Teddy’s past, we do know that he has not let any of his past get to him - his tail constantly wags. Teddy does well with smaller dogs. If the home has children, they must be older and understand that he is small and being a dachshund, is prone to back problems. Teddy is VERY prey driven and does not like cats. A fenced in yard would be better for Teddy because he is prey driven and is very fast. He would be a great addition to any family that is willing to provide frequent exercise, understands the breed, and wants a happy and easy going pup as a member of their family.

More about Teddy.....NC

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
