BIO:  Needs another dog to play with.  MUST have a fenced in yard!

Hi, I’m Missy!   I came in with Bo from northern AL when the lady had too many dogs, so she took us to the shelter.   I am an AWESOME dog, if I do say so myself!   I get along with other dogs and love people.   I have a BIG personality-- I'm very vocal, and I "smile" a lot because I'm always happy!   The best part of my day is when my foster mom and dad get home from work.

I'm crate trained, but I don't particularly like to be in there by myself.   I would much rather be running, and jumping, and playing! When I'm tired at night though, I'm good about sleeping in the crate once I get comfy.   I'm completely potty-trained.   My foster mom is proud of me because I haven't had even one accident in her house! I’ve got a nice soft, shiny coat and I am a brindle.   They say I’m a little on the heavy side so they have me on some diet food to get my girlish figure back and look even more beautiful.   I'm starting to lose some weight, so it looks like I'm going to be ready for bikini season after all!

I am easy going and can adjust well to wherever I am.   I absolutely love playing with my foster brother and sisters, so I need another dog to keep me company.   Since I love to run and play outside, a fenced-in yard is also a must for me.   If you adopt me I will be your loyal companion for the rest of my life!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
