BIO:

Belle was given up by her owner in TN because she could no longer care for her.  Belle is a delight, she’s happy, friendly and great with kids over 6 years.  I consider her one of the most perfect dogs I’ve fostered!  She can be an only dog or live with another dog.  Cats are okay too!

If you are looking for a dog to walk with (she needs to shed a few pounds), Belle's ready!  Also, if the weather is bad, she'll use newspaper to potty on so no one has to get wet or really cold.  Though she does like wearing sweaters or coats, so that would help too.

Belle came to us needing a dental and because her teeth were not cared for, she did lose several.  We have her on soft food for now to let the gums heal.  Also, on the 23rd of March, she will have surgery to remove some bladder stones that have formed in her bladder.  They will then be sent off to find out if she needs to be on special food or she can stay on regular food.  If she is special needs, her adoption fee will reflect that.  But don’t let that stop you from adopting this sweet girl... she’ll be worth every penny!

More about Belle #3.....NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
