Hank is the excitable companion to Jasper, and they are a bonded pair.  Hank looks to Jasper for comfort and overall how to react to any given situation.  Hank is uncertain of people initially, but warms quickly and becomes a snuggly lovebug.  He adores playing with Jasper and they are both comical and entertaining to watch.  Hank loves sitting in your lap, working his way to your chest, then laying his head on your body while looking up at you with the most loving eyes.  Talk about a heart-breaker!  Hank has a gorgeous plume of a tail that he carries high with a slight curl.  He is quite the jumper, perhaps there's a bit of kangaroo in his family tree!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
