BIO:

Finn is one of the sweetest dogs that you will ever meet!  All of this despite some horrific things that have happened to him in the recent past.  You see, when he was surrendered to a shelter in Decatur, AL he had a very serious eye injury.  Someone had pushed his eye so far into his head that the iris had become inverted.  The damage was such that his right eye had to be removed.  One might think that this has made him very fearful of humans, but he has risen above that and is as well-adjusted as any other dog.

His foster dad has observed that he has gotten along with all three female mini dachshunds in the foster home and has become a really good playmate to AADR alumni Winford (formerly known as “Socks”).  We have witnessed no incidents of food aggression, but have noticed he is very protective of certain toys that catch his fancy.  He has completely recovered from his eye surgery and the loss of his right eye has not slowed him down one iota.  We have noticed that he will let loose with some “excitement” urination.  He gets really excited at times and flops down on his back and occasionally lets fly with a stream of urine.

For all that Finn has been through, he is an extremely well-adjusted dog.  He loves to sleep in the big bed but eats his meals inside a crate.   He answers to his name and is just an all-around great soul!

Would you please consider Finn as an addition to your family?  He would make a fantastic, loving addition to any family!

If you have questions about this handsome little guy, contact Erich, his foster dad, at eezee416@gmail.com.

More about Finn......TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
