My name is Lollie Lou and I love to run around outside so I really need a fenced in yard, but I walk really good on a leash too.  I’m full of love and energy, not sure how I’d do around young children.  My foster home right now has a male and female dachshund and I really want to play with them, but they don’t seem too interested.  I came from a home where my parent was a hoarder/breeder who abandoned me, but I really don’t have any social issues except I get a little jealous if other dogs are getting attention and I’m not.

I love to snuggle under the covers and lay on your lap!  I listen pretty well too…all you have to do is tell me no and I stop doing what I’m not supposed to be doing.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
