Bio:  NEEDS FENCED IN YARD

Hi, my name is Jasmine and I am a cuddly little love bug!  I am a short haired red Dachshund and my foster mom says she has never seen one so tiny!  I am slowly gaining some weight, as I was previously owned by a dog hoarder and I was too skinny.

I am so happy to be in a real home with proper food and care, and most importantly LOVE.  But, I really am looking for a permanent home that I can stay in forever.  I am real small, so it's best if I am not around little kids.  I am working on potty training, but foster mom doesn't want me outside too long in this cold Wisconsin weather, so I am working on using puppy pads until it warms up.  I am doing real good with that!

I love to run around and then I like to take a nap.  I love just being in a lap.  Oh, and kisses, I give those away like crazy!  I don't bark very much and so far, I don't play with toys, but that could change once I get more comfortable.  I am getting used to my new siblings, Rufus and Lucy.

Having a fenced in yard is a must!  I don't want to get lost.  Any questions?  You can contact my foster mom at sasha@new.rr.com.  Ready to give me a chance?

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
