BIO:
Tinky was an owner surrender because his owner was moving and wasn’t able to take him. AADR was contacted and now Tinky is looking for his very own furever home. Tinky has been fully vetted, including a dental where he lost about 8 teeth. Tinky has been in my home for only a short time and has already fit in with the other dogs. He is still checking the cats out and he will bark at them when they move too fast, but he has never tried to bother them, and I have 4 cats. Tinky is in good health with no known problems and is a very good dachshund.
Tinky is a lover who gives great kisses and he likes to curl up with you. He is loving his back yard and going out the doggie door. He is house trained and crate trained! Tinky is so gentle and very laid back. We have found that he does enjoy checking out the toys. Tinky sleeps in his crate at night and we’ve had no problems. He is doing great in my home with all the activity. He will bark to let you know if someone is outside, but then he’s done barking. I’m not sure how he would do with children, but we will start working on him meeting some while on our walks.
If you would like more info on this great little guy, please contact his foster mom, Cathy, at cathyjbm@aol.com.
More about Tinky.....TN
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Adults
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
