BIO:
Meet Fritz! Fritz is a dachshund wanna-be!
He was surrendered to AADR when his elderly owner became ill. When Fritz arrived he was VERY scared and nervous to say the least. He had been taken from the only home he had ever known and handed over to a bunch of strangers. Fritz has been living with a trainer since he arrived and is learning to be brave in his new surroundings.
Fritz is not a big fan of the men in the household, but is slowly warming up. He also doesn’t like big dogs. We feel that Fritz would strive in a home with just one other smaller dog to show him the ropes and a husband (boyfriend, son, significant other, etc.) that will be patient with him.
Fritz is completely crate trained. He walks on a leash like a CHAMP! He is completely housebroken if taken out on a regular schedule. He is fine with cats and likes older children (we feel smaller kids would just be too much for him). He LOVES to cuddle and watch t.v. with you. Fritz will need a home that is understanding that it will take a week or two for him to warm up, but oh boy once he does, he will pay you back tenfold.
Fritz is working on obedience commands while in his foster home. When he arrives in his new home he will be able to sit, down, stay, place, come, leave it, and heel. We would love a home that would continue the training he has already started. It will help him become more comfortable in his new home.
