BIO:
Shotzie is my name! How much more German could I be?! I'm a curious, fun and a bold girl who likes to dig outdoors and roll in the grass of my fenced yard. I also protect my humans. I bark at strangers and loud noises that I don't understand so that Mom or Dad will take a look to make sure we are all safe. I love to be with another pup of my kind, but mostly boys. Loving my owners is a given. After a few days I will be eating out of your hand, well at least it will appear that way to you. Also I'll be sleeping above your head on a nice long soft pillow that I can sink into.
I came from a home with a wonderful Mom but she got sick and her family sent her away. No one gave me a chance to say good-bye and I miss her and hope that she misses me. I was taken away by what someone told me was family of hers but they treated me like I was not worth having. I was put in a box on the front porch and given no love, no warmth, nothing. Each night I hoped that my human Mom would come back but she never did. I became angry and sad and just sat in my cardboard box. One day another person from another part of the family came and took me and sent me to AADR so that I would be taken care of and have a nice warm home with others just like me. It was several weeks of peace as I healed from a bruise the doctor found on me during my visit to his office. They think a horse may have kicked me but I'm staying quiet about it. I just want to forget what happened after my Mom was taken away and now just want to stop traveling and become family with a couple of maybe retired humans who will love me and walk me and keep me with them in my forever home. I promise to be your pride and joy and to make you smile every day for many many years to come. Just love me, walk me and play with me and maybe get me a boy to share my alone time with.
Right now I live with this guy named Matt and I am starting to smile again. Being scared because of what happened is slowly becoming a memory. Today I even dug a hole for Matt to see in his yard. He was so happy to see me laying in the nice cool space right next to the hole that his boy dug. What a life! I know there is a new Mom or Dad out there waiting for me and I'm waiting for you, and I really need you now. Florida would be a wonderful state for me to stay in. I like the sun and nice people and you might even have a dog park we can go to. Please make me a home (inside your house).
Being completely serious my friends, this dog is a wonderful companion dog that would fit in best with a couple who likes to take the dog with them on trips and has the time to spend with her at home as well. She lived with an older woman so she is used to being with someone and the sudden separation left her a bit scared and jumpy but slowly with love and kisses she will regain her confidence with everyone. She does really get along with other small dogs and boys are best as opposites in animals tend not to engage in fighting. She has a long life ahead of her and is the same age my dog was when I adopted him. No puppy training. A blessing of its own. Shotzie will be ready soon, but if you are interested, the first application to be approved will have a new family member.
