BIO: Beau is a rescue from an breeder. He is a very healthy & beautiful dog. He is crate trained and actually sleeps in it at night. We are working on housetraining and am glad to report that it is going very well. He has been neutered so his breeding days are over. He loves to play & take walks (really long ones). He is overall a very friendly dog but may bark to greet--we are working on teaching him a quieter greeting. He loves to cuddle & sit with you in true Dachshund form. He does get along well with my other Doxies but does show dominance behavior at times so attention is warrented if there is another male in the pack. He is interested in my cat but does respect her (after she swats at him) This boy truely deserves his forever home--he will be the most loyal & loving dog--Please consider giving this boy that home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about BEAU...NY

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
