BIO:

My name is China and came from a Tennessee breeder who no longer could care for her animals due to an unexpected illness.  I was adopted in September 2016 to a family who, recently decided they no longer could take the time or provide me with the things that would make me a better pet.  So, they are surrendering me back to AADR.

I am back with my foster Mom who has dachshunds I can play with.  I am house trained to a doggie door, eat and play well with the others, and love sleeping in the big bed at night.

I am in pretty good health, but had a problem with dribbling my urine a lot.  My foster mom took me to the Vet and I am currently on antibiotics for a bladder infection.  My treatment will be completed on April 16th.  I have no food or fear aggressions.  I have a mild form of anxiety when people come back home - I get so excited to see them.  I am not destructive, but sure do miss them when they leave.

I am still a puppy and need guidance and direction on how to be a good companion.  My recent family never took the time to help me learn some basic puppy skills like sit, stay, no bark, or leave it.  I am young and able to learn if you can take an interest in me and have the time to help me.  Please help me learn my social skills, and teach me all the “doggie” things I need to learn.

I will do my best in a home with lots of people around me, a fenced in yard, and another four-legged friend to keep me company when you are at work or not at home.  I want a family that will give me my FOREVER HOME.  Open up your heart and home to this little girl (Me!!) who will love you and be your BEST FRIEND FOREVER!  Only serious applicants need apply.  I’m waiting to hear from you!

If you have any questions or want to hear more about what a wonderful girl I am, please contact my Foster Mom, Cherie, at cherie554ever@gmail.com.

More about China....MI

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
