UPDATE:  7/12/2016

Hello everyone this gorgeous little girl is Stella.  Her mom was a standard dachshund and her dad was a traveling salesman so we have no idea what he was.  She smart and playful and would make the perfect addition to anyone’s life.

She does well with other dogs, we are unsure of cats because we don’t have any but I think she’d do fine.

If you are looking for the perfect pup than she’s your girl.  She’ll keep you busy throwing her ball and cuddle with you when she’s all tuckered out.

If you’d like to know more about her please contact her foster mom at iresqdachshunds@att.net.

Hi everyone! I don’t have a long tail like all dachshunds do; I have a cute, short, stubby tail about 2 inches long. I have the same tail as my mom and she’s a pure bred Dachshund. Dad, well, he didn’t want nothing to do with all of us so he took off and mom isn’t saying anything about him. All mom would say was she was sorry but we are not pure bred BUT please don’t let that stop you from adopting me. I won’t have the back issues that a lot of short legged dachshunds have. I won’t have the attitude that a lot of them have if you keep me socialized with other dogs, cats and kids. I promise you I’ll be the next best thing to sliced bread!!

I love my brothers and sisters but I need my space too. Another dog or a cat to play with would be just fine with me, and YOU of course. I’m very outgoing and love attention and did I tell you I’m really smart?

Look deep into my eyes and I’ll have you hooked! Please consider me, I will love you for the next 15-17 yrs, I promise!

More about Stella....WI aka Lucy

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
