BIO:

Daisy is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet.  The best way to describe this bundle of energy is that she is 100 percent PUPPY.  Daisy came to AADR after she somehow wound up in a shelter in KY. She LOVES running, romping and playing with her foster brothers so a home with an energetic dog or two would perfect as she would play 24/7 if she could!!

Since Daisy has an abundance of energy, a home with a fenced in yard is preferable or a home that has an active lifestyle will work too as she LOVES going for long daily walks or even a jog!

Daisy would be good with children over the age of 7 as she is still a very clumsy puppy and will jump around and want to play, we are working on her manners and she should calm down as she gets older. She is good with cats as long as they are dog savvy.

Daisy truly is a beautiful little girl, inside and out, she is super social and outgoing. She loves sleeping in the big bed and will settle down once she realizes that play time is over, haha.

So if you are looking for a young, energetic, adorable and loving dog, Daisy is your GIRL!! Put your application in quickly as she will not last long…..

=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Daisy.....CA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
