My name is Roscoe. I am a brown shorthair dachshund. I am approximately 2 1/2 to 3 years old. I am a very good boy and doing well with my crate training. I am housetrained and I have been going into my kennel on command for my mom. I have two other sisters right now, Keely the border collie, and Lady the pit bull. While we are a funny looking group, we get along great and play together like the best of friends. I can escape from a chain link fence so if you have a yard it's best to have a privcy fence. I love to be a lap dog and sit on the couch and cuddle with mom when she lets me. I am also great with children (mom has a 17 month old baby). I love to curl up under a nice comfy blanket or my pillows in my kennel to keep warm. I have a very fun personality and I am very energetic and outgoing. I walk well on a leash and love to take walks!!! Hopefully, someone will see me and give me a great new home and a wonderful life. Could that be you???
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about ROSCOE...MA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
