BIO
Update, Daisy has waited so long for her forever home please give her a home for the holiday!!

Hello, my name is Daisy#15.  I originally came from a puppy mill, but was lucky enough to be rescued and now up for adoption.  I stay with my Foster Parents who take good care of my while I am waiting to go to my forever home.

I love to play ball in my fenced yard, and go for walks in the neighborhood.  I enjoy visiting with the other dogs and people on my street.  Everyone loves me because I am so cute & friendly…honestly I love the attention.  My tail is always wagging.

I let my Foster Parents know when I need to go outside, and I always get a treat after.  I enjoy sleeping in my crate during the day when everyone is at work, but love to snuggle up next to you when it’s bedtime.  I give all the free kisses when asked.

My Foster Mom says I am sassy because I bounce to let her know when I am trying to get her attention, or when she is taking longer than I like to fix my meals.  She thinks I am funny and part human.  She calls me Crazy Daisy.

I have been spayed, chipped, create trained, potty trained, had all my shots and in good health.  All I need is for you to adopt me…I promise I will bring laughter and much happiness to your family.

Update, 8-7-14
I am a well behaved, energetic, spunky, loving little girl.  I love, repeat love to play fetch with my mini tennis balls.  When my foster family got me I was skin and bones but since I am eating regularly, I have put on weight so that I am a healthy size now.  I will fit any lap perfectly and enjoy going for rides.  Kisses you say? Only when you ask.  Like to go for short walks?  I'm your pup! I enjoy seeing the neighbors and their dogs when we go out and about every day.  I am crate trained, potty trained and love to received treats for my good behavior. I have lots of love to give and hope you will love me back the same.

Daisy#15 is a puppymill survivor but she’s been out of the mill long enough to know how to be a pet. She is so very sweet and loves to lay in your lap. She always has time for that. She is doing very well on housebreaking if kept on a schedule and is crate trained. She gets along with all the brothers and sisters here but would also do well as an only dog.
Daisy lost a lot of teeth due to her poor vet care and possible in time would be able to eat very small kibble or softened hard food. She’s a good eater and we are working to put some much needed weight on her. Please consider giving her a lasting forever home. You won’t regret it and she’ll make you a wonderful companion.

More about Daisy number 15....OH

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
