BIO

My foster mother can’t believe that someone wanted to give me away.  She says I am the sweetest, most beautiful girl ever.  And I’m smart too!  I am the total package of perfect.  I love to go on walks with all of the dogs or all by myself is fine too.  I get along great with my foster brother and sister.  They have these strange things at my foster home called cats.  I like them, but maybe a little too much because I will not leave them alone and then they get annoyed with me.  I sleep in a crate at night and am house trained.  My very favorite thing in the whole word is to sleep on someone’s lap.

Marble came from New York with two other dachshunds Ginger #8 and Cindy that were taken to the vet to be euthanized but he would not do it.  The family member was going to take them to the pound but luckily there was a vet tech that reached out to us and we took them all in.  Due to lack of care, Marble lost a lot of her teeth but as soon as they were out she felt so much better.  Don’t let her lack of teeth scare you, she eats soft food with no problems and the vet says her gums will toughen up.  We don’t know how Marble will do with young children but she is very friendly with new adults.  If you are looking for a pet that loves to go on walks and then come home and cuddle then please consider giving Marble her last forever home where she will be loved unconditionally,

More about Marble...NY

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
