BIO

Roscoe came to us as a scared little boy from a high kill shelter in Huntsville, AL. Owner turned him in; didn’t have the time.

We can’t figure this one out, he’s quiet, cuddly and gets along with the other dogs or can be by himself. What’s not to love about this boy and someone want to keep him. He is shy with strangers or someone he just meets for the first time but if you give him some space and let him come to you he’s just fine. He’s just not sure at first. He just needs to be taken around strangers more so he can learn that all people are wonderful. Treats help!

He did have a few accidents when he first came but he now is fine but we suggest keeping him on a schedule at first.

Who’s going to be the lucky person to land this guy?? Apply now….

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
