BIO:  One word to describe Daisy….WOW!!!

Daisy has to have a fenced in yard!

Daisy has a high prey drive so she can never be allowed off leash or you can't have cats, birds, mice, rats any kind of rodent. Other than that this dog is WONDERFUL! We just can't understand why no one wants her, you are missing out on a gem. She'd be a great walking partner or jogging friend or do you roller blade she could pull you if you have a harness on her. You just can't allow her off her leash or she'll hunt hunt hunt!

The family gave her up cause they didn’t have a fenced in yard and the kids kept letting her out and the owner was afraid she was going to get hit and killed by a car so she did the best thing for Daisy and turned her over to us. WHAT a great dog she is, she’s friendly, happy, gets along with all the other dogs, loves to play, and is just a joy to foster. We can’t say enough about Daisy. We do want her to have a fenced in yard and another dachshund to play with but we do think she’d be ok by herself. She doesn’t need to be put in a crate when you leave she’ll just sleep her day away waiting for you to come home. At 24 lbs she is not too fat and not to thin she’s just where she needs to be so if you are looking for a standard dachshund look no further, Daisy is waiting for you and has not unpacked her bags cause she knows a forever home is out there for her just waiting for her.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
