BIO

Hi everyone, my name is Ernie... I'm really new to this so I hope you understand if I don't get all my details correct. I am one of three born on 5/5/2013. My mommy gave us love and care for the last eight weeks. We moved the other day. We had a great ride with some really nice people and now we are in our Foster Home with Kathy and David. This is a cool place! I brother, sister and I share our own little castle. I have lots of toys and a soft comfy bed!  I have a BIG foster brother and a BIG foster sister. I really like them and I think they like me!!  I have a great fenced-in area where I get to go outside. For some reason, Mommy and Daddy are really happy when we go to the bathroom in our outdoor area...I even got extra love and a treat! Right now my day is pretty simple, I sleep, eat, play and go outside...I love to run and give great kisses. I am a cuddle-bug and like to sit on the couch in Mommy's lap. Mommy said that someday soon, a really nice person/family will want to give me a “furever” home. She said I would get lots of love and have a great life. Would you consider giving me a nice home?? Please call my Mommy and Daddy if you can. Hope to hear from you!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
