BIO:

Gizmo is a great little companion! He is super playful. He loves toys: stuffed animals, tug a war, water bottles, ect. His absolute favorite thing to do is go exploring in the backyard, he'd love to stay out there for hours if you let him! He enjoys walks and that's when he likes to go potty, rather than in the backyard. He is house trained. Gizmo gets along with most other dogs, a little better with female dogs than boy dogs. He is truly a loving dog and explodes with excitement when you get home. He has a lot of energy but will settle down with you on the couch or in bed to snuggle. Gizmo is a cute boy inside and out.

More about Gizmo..FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
