BIO:  Are you looking for a dachshund that wants to be as close to you as she can get? One that looks at you with adoring eyes? One that is not a barker? One that is housebroken on a schedule? You’ve found her!!

Caramel is a beautiful little girl inside and out. She’s quiet, not demanding and just wants you to love her. She would do best with another well adjusted, friendly dachshund where she can continue to learn to be a pet. She was with a group of 6 dachshunds, living outside and the man of the house told the woman that if she didn’t get rid of her and her brother then he was taking them and dumping them in the woods to die. We stepped in and the male BB has found a home but now it’s Caramel’s time. She is unfortunately heartworm positive and has to go through treatment but she’ll be done and ready to go to her forever home the 1^st of June.

She is such a pretty, reserved little girl and so so sweet, you can’t go wrong with her. Apply today when the process is done she’ll be ready to go.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. 

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
