BIO:

MINI came from a shelter in Huntsville, AL scared out of her mind and snapping, we didn’t know how she would be once we got her out of the shelter. Once she got her and she was able to settle in she turned into a LOVEBUG. She loves to have her belly rubbed and will roll over for you to do just that. She loves to be carried all over and loves to be outside in the cold and snow. She must have a fenced in yard because many times you’ll find her outside just wandering the yard, keeping an eye on the neighborhood. She may be little but she’s mighty! She is housebroken if you keep her on a schedule and take her out first thing in the morning. She loves to sleep in the big bed and will wake in the middle of the night if she has to potty.

She is crate trained and does well in one while we are gone.

This little girl is as cute as a bug and just a sweetheart, please find it in your heart to give her a home before then new year.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
