BIO:
Rosa came to us with Beau 4 and Gracie from an owner that was losing her home and job. Broken hearted she knew she had to give them up to be fair to them. Rosa is a little shy at first but warms up quickly then loves to give you little butterfly kisses. She is housebroken and does very well with a doggie door, she is very eager to please so if you don't have one she'll be easy to re-train to you opening the door. She is crate trained. We would say kids over 5 and that are gentle with the dachshund breed and have been around dachshunds before and know how they are. She would do better with another dog since she's always been around another dachshund. Please find it in your heart to give Rosa a wonderful forever home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. More about ROSA...RI

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
