PLEASE GINGER NEEDS A HOME TO CALL HER OWN....SHE'S BEEN IN RESCUE LONG ENOUGH. GINGER2 was given up after her mom died and no one in the family could take her. She was used to being with another dog so going to a home with another dog might be best. She does like to be a lap baby and sleep in the big bed. GINGER2 is housebroken to a doggie door and regular door but will need brushing up on going outside at given times. She is okay with small children but would probably be better in a home with no children or children over 10. She is a very sweet little girl and will sleep in a doggie bed while you're busy if you have one handy. She does have a hind leg the looks like it might have been broken at one time but unless you look real close you don't really notice a difference. She gets along just fine and has no problems with that leg. She had a good dental and lost some teeth but she's all spit-shined for her new home. She even got a new collar for the next special home for her. Please be that home!!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
