BIO: Beautiful Rose was turned into us from Tennessee when her owner could no longer care for her. Our wish list for her includes:
- A strong pack leader
- A fenced yard is a must
- A young, small, male dog in the home for her to play with ... or could be an only dog if you are willing to keep her busy playing a LOT!
- Someone who is willing to be patient with her and help her to become socialized
- No apartments or high rises
Rose has gotten much better but will still need help with socialization. She loves to play with toys and a 4 yr old male in the foster home but will also try to play with the 8 yr old non-alpha female of the foster home. She is a delightful girl that just wants to love and be loved. She loves to sleep between your legs when you are relaxing and will bring you toys for you and her to play tug of war with. To her the more toys the better. She could be good as an only dog or with another small young dog
AADR does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back or get bitten.
