BIO (7/16/2019): Hello all, my name is Gonzo and I’m looking for my very own Furever Home! I’m in a foster home with cats and dogs and don’t have a problem with any of them.
From Gonzo’s foster mom: Gonzo has only been in foster for a short time and he is learning new things every day. Gonzo came from a hoarder home but you wouldn’t know it from all the love that he is ready to give!! Gonzo is sleeping in a crate all night with no accidents. He is enjoying going out a doggie door to run and play in the yard and boy, does he love to play! Gonzo walks well on a leash. What a sweet little boy he is!
Gonzo was so matted when rescued that he had to be shaved but with good food and loving, his hair is coming back. Gonzo will have his dental on 7/24/2019 and will be ready for adoption after that.
Please, if you are looking for a sweet boy, look at Gonzo. Gonzo has had the chance to go to work with me and has done so well with everyone that he has met.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
