Marley is a double dapple can can see and hear. Marley came to us as an owner surrender. Unfortunately her family was making some changes and she could not come along. She is an alpha female and will do ok with other dogs as long as they are male. She is used to getting her way and thinks that she rules the roost. She does get along with cats and kids too. However since she is so small in size she will be better in a home that has older children so that they are not too rough with her. She also HAS to have a fenced yard as she does like to dart out of the door any chance she gets. Her favorite past time is sitting in your lap & cuddling with you. She is housebroken and crate trained Marley is up to date on all her shots and on Interceptor & Frontline. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
