Their youngest child became extremely allergic to Honey so they put her in the garage. They realized that was no life for Honey so they made the decision to put her into rescue so we could find her a home where she could be in the home with the rest of the family. They had had her since she was a puppy so you can understand how heartbroken they are. As for Honey she is doing well at adjusting. She is UTD on all shots on Interceptor and frontline and is housebroken. She's ready to go to that new home and start a new adventure, maybe even in another state. Are you interested in this sweet sweet girl. If so please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and make her yours. We do require a home visit and out of state and Canadian adoption are welcome.

Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
