She thinks she's all that AND a bag of chips!! She has lots of spunk and doesn't slow down just cause she's a senior. She loves to sleep in the big bed, be where you're at and enjoys the other fosters as long as she's not in your lap, then she wants you all to herself and will give them a little growl but it's all growl and no bite. We think she'd be fine around kids 10 and up cause she just loves attention and other dogs and we think cats. She had to have all of her teeth pulled cause she was not cared for while she was in this puppy mill and she had babies after babies but that's over for her now. She has been spayed and the doctor removed several mammary tumor. Lucky for us she was heartworm negative so now she's on heartworm prevention and in a foster home where she can recover and get ready to go on to her new home. If you want a sassy senior girl this is the one. She is also working on housetraining but does go on papers or puppy pads. She loves to be outside when it's nice out too just wandering the yard. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
