BIO (4/2/2019):  Honey was found as a stray in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  She is very sweet and has lots of energy.  Honey loves people and attention and she also enjoys cuddling.  She gets along well with other dogs, especially those her size.  She would do well with another dog her size for company.  Honey is well socialized, housebroken and leashed trained.  A fenced yard is a must so that she can run and play.  Honey is almost finished with her Heartworm treatment and she is ready for her forever family.  Are you ready to give her a forever home?

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Playful, Affectionate

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
