BIO (12/2/2018):  Roscoe, yes, that’s my name!

I was a stray found in a small town in Tennessee.  I was scared, hungry and all alone.  AADR took me in, completely vetted me, and sent me up Michigan to be fostered.

So, here I am up in Michigan living with my foster mommy and 4 doxie siblings to keep me company.  I get along well with my foster siblings.  I like using the doggie door, but I am not completely house broken.  I have no food aggression and respond well to treats.  I do know a few simple commands – especially “sit” when it’s time to eat or just get a treat.  I love sitting on my foster mommy’s lap in the evening while watching TV and sleeping in the Big Bed at night.  I love company and strangers - they pique my interest for some reason.

I need to go to a Dachshund savvy home in Michigan.  I have an issue I’m trying to work out and it will take time, lots of love and trust to help me work through it.  So, any Dachshund savvy home in Michigan looking for a project – that would be me!  If you are interested, my foster mommy will fill you in on all the details.

AADR wants the BEST for me.  Therefore, I need a home with another young dog, a strong pack leader, and a fenced yard.  I need a Forever Home willing to teach me and help me work through my issue.  I need a family who will protect and care for me.  If you are looking for your Best Friend - open up your heart and home - I will love you Forever.

More about Roscoe in CO

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
